My brain is made of mush, alongside all these brains stuff. I believe in sustainable living not out of environmental consciousness but more so in vue of a possible apocalypse and due to my ever growing disdain for human beings.
I like the song Big in Japan by Alphaville.

In the United States alone an animal is killed every six seconds in the name of scientific experimentation. A holocaust the likes of which man has never known is taking place right before our very eyes. It’s up to you and I to put a stop to it. It’s up to you and I to make a change. It’s up to you and I to liberate.

A holocaust?
Go fuck yourself. Maybe I’d take you seriously if you didn’t equate animal deaths to the fucking holocaust. And also, some of those animals are dying so humans can have medicines so that humans can live and function and not be the ones testing out side effects of new drugs.
Dear fellow animal lovers.Stop this.Stop comparing mass killing to the Holocaust (I know that’s what you really mean when you say holocaust. You’re not fooling anyone). It’s not the same. Also, while we’re at it stop saying animals are raped. I get it, you’re appealing to the emotional side of humans. You want us to feel angered at the suffering the animals are going through but when you use words such as these all you do is anger people. It’s triggering, a lot of the time it’s racist, it’s privileged, it’s disingenuous - most people are aware of how these emotive words affect other people.

First of all, those are lyrics to a song.
Secondly, you’re right. It isn’t the same. It’s worse. It is hundreds of thousands of times worse than the Holocaust. More deaths happen in one day for food than the entirety of the World War II, Holocaust included. Call it what the fuck you want, but to say that the 11 million deaths at the hands of Nazi Germany 70 years ago is in any way comparable to the 40 - 60 million deaths that happen every single day for your food is fucking abhorrent and astoundingly egotistical.
Do not fucking start with the rape thing. It is rape. It is 150%, irrefutably, very obviously rape. You do not know what the fuck you’re talking about. Look up what the dairy industry entails. It is rape, it is kidnapping, it is murder. End of discussion.
You are either uneducated on most of this or you’re a total asshole. Stop calling yourself an animal lover because you’ve made it clear that you have no compassion for non-human animals beyond wanting to keep one as an accessory.

quoilecanard:

Our second rescue from beagles who have lived their entire lives inside a research laboratory. These beagles have known nothing except the confines of metal cages. They have known no soft human touch, no warm bed, no companionship, no love. They have never been outside or sniffed a tree or grass.

Finally, after years of being poked and prodded, these beagles are FREE! ARME got the call that a facility was willing to release them to us after they had been used in several tests. We picked them up on June 8th and now they are all in loving foster homes, and one has already been adopted. (Click here too see the video).

I can never not reblog this. I’ll never understand what kind of monstrous person could live with themselves after treating any animal this way. I hope every animal tester and vivisector rots.

corneliagrey:

Today, in the Italian town of Montichiari, a thousand people broke into a breeding facility where there are about 2500 beagles destined to vivisection and animal testing.
The crowd managed to free about 30 animals before being chased away by the police. 12 were arrested and some have been reportedly hit by the policemen.
These people are all part of the committee that wants to shut down the facility and free all the animals. They have so far been completely ignored by the politicians.
At this link [click here] you can read the article (in Italian) but most importantly you can see the video of the local news station. Seeing so many people carrying dogs so lovingly as they ran, and hearing the crowd cheer every time a puppy was handed over the fence, made me cry like a baby.
You go, guys. This is the Italy I love.

This is Che. He was born and raised in a lab, for vivisection. More than 10 years ago I led a campaign to shut down experiments at the University of Texas, and negotiated with university administrators for his release. When we first got him out of the lab, he was terrified to walk on grass. He had known nothing but concrete.
Che died several days ago. It is heartbreaking to see him go. But it so much less painful knowing that, although he endured 5 years of hell, he spent 10 in the home of one of the most caring, gentle men I know.
I often look at these two photos of him to remind myself that we’d all do better to show even an ounce of the character of these animals. For me, they are a reminder to show courage even when you are too afraid to move, and to love even when you have no reason to expect anything good in return.
Rest in peace, Che.

This is beautiful. I’m so sorry for you loss, Will.

Such a poignant story. My most sincerest condolences. Thank you for giving him the life he deserved.

Rescued Lab Beagles Taste Freedom

Last weekend, nine beagles who spent their lives in crates as “lab rats” for the pharmaceutical industry got their first foray into freedom. Normally laboratories euthanize these dogs when their usefulness is done — usually after about two years of this “life,” according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
Medical laboratories in the US are using about 60,000 dogs at any given time, according to the Foundation for Biomedical Research, an organization that educates the public about the role of humane animal research. Beagles are often used as testing animals because the dogs are trusting, good-natured, and small, according the Chronicle. And it’s not just medical research facilities that use dogs. They can be used in testing anything from cosmetics to household cleaners.

For more information about adopting these rescued Beagles, check out the Beagle Freedom Project.

This is a cause dear to my heart! My beagle has, unbeknownst to him, influenced me to make the lifestyle choices i have made since he’s been a part of my life. From refusing to use products tested on animals to changing my diet, to even altering my career path and making me a much better person in every way, my beagle has opened my eyes.
Beagles are the prime choice for animal testing due to their passive and carefree nature and i’ve seen hundreds of videos depicting their disgusting and inhumane fate as well as some proving a better and more positive outcome. Witnessing a beagle being released from a test lab and experiencing walking freely on grass for the first time in its life is heartbreaking and touching all at once. Seeing them allowing humans, who’ve caused them nothing but harm and disrespect, to touch and care for them after all the horror they’ve suffered at their hands is an eye awakening experience.

If you can, help. It’ll change your life.
