Went to Santropol yesterday afternoon. I love that place. I used to always order out from that little restaurant but I would rarely eat on location.
It’s mainly a sandwich and fair trade coffee hipster paradise but it’s so wonderful that I do not mind at all. The front room is a little veranda filled with books, in the front of the restaurant. The main room is incredibly pretty with an rich old timey feel and wonderful moldings in dark tones.
We sat on the backyard terrace, filled with trees, plants, a nice little fountain and a roaming cat.
Their menu is very vegan friendly and it even singles out the vegan (or veganiseable items) on their menu by identifying them with a little green leaf by the name/number of the items. The chili is vegan if you order it without cheese. It smelled fantastic but my acid reflux has been off the charts so I otped for the sammich… Their bread is INSANE, so thick and fluffy yet with crunchy crust. I do believe you can actually buy a loaf of their bread.
Santropol is close to my house so I will most likely return more often in the near future. I also think they have free wifi…!!
